MATTHEW CARR BIO
I'm a South Eastern West Virginia resident now splitting time in Roanoke, VA with my Fiance. I didn't creating art until five years ago. I had previously worked for a coal company for ten years and another five working in construction with my father. The Christmas of 2016 I received a Bob Ross painting kit because my mother knew how much I enjoyed watching Bob Ross on the local PBS station. I was immediately hooked creating happy trees and snow covered mountains. Shortly after I started to experiment with figurative painting, the story that could be told in every painting made each painting unique. I now use different elements such as rain, dust, splashing water, and focusing light to create drama in my work. I try to capture the viewers eye from across the gallery to focus their attention on my work.
